Hello! I am Samantha Ogletree - the owner and creator of Sam O. Photo.

My background

I graduated cum laude with dual Bachelor's degrees in Mass Media Arts and Film Studies from the University of Georgia. After that, I worked in film production in Los Angeles, Branson, Atlanta, and Detroit on feature films including Hamtramck, USA, Transformers 5 and Treehouse.

From GA to MI

After moving to Michigan in 2015, I established myself as a freelance photographer, videographer, and designer--eventually launching my LLC Sam O. Photo. I hold a position on the Executive Team of the Detroit Young Professionals and serve as the organization’s resident photographer and web designer. In 2017, one of my photos went viral on Reddit. It got published in Yahoo!News, Good Morning America, and CTV News. In 2018, I designed the winning pitch deck for Detroit Demo Day during my work as Marketing Director. In 2022, two of my photographic pieces were selected to be featured at the Detroit Dirty Show Expo.
